Applying Christ's Teachings and spreading the news of God's work
In the beginning, I wasn’t sure that an intimate relationship with God was even possible. Being a skeptic, I dared Jesus to prove to me that He was/is real. My first instruction came from Matthew 22: 37-38 where Jesus said:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”
For the first time in my life, I made a daily appointment to meet and talk with God. I found out that Matthew 22:37-38 is possible and that it is the key to becoming that person God created me to be.
My love for God has helped me grasp the importance of Matthew 22: 39-40 where Jesus said:
“Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Simply put, attempting to love another person the way God does is impossible, unless I know the love of God personally. I accomplish that end by allowing my love for Him to be made manifest wherever I am, whoever I am with and in whatever I am doing.
The mission for all of us should be to have a personal relationship with God, read the word of God, hear what God is saying to us through His word, and then apply what He is saying to every aspect of our life.
Therefore, A C T stands for Applying Christ’s Teachings. The mission is to have believers as well as non-believers establish an intimate friendship with Jesus Christ and apply His teachings to all the areas of their life.
"And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightaway they foresook their nets, and followed him."
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
