{"id":1014,"date":"2022-08-20T19:29:22","date_gmt":"2022-08-20T19:29:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=1014"},"modified":"2022-08-20T19:29:22","modified_gmt":"2022-08-20T19:29:22","slug":"yikes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=1014","title":{"rendered":"\u201cYikes\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Absorbing God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201dBut mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.\u00a0People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,\u00a0boastful, proud,\u00a0abusive,\u00a0disobedient to their parents,\u00a0ungrateful, unholy,\u00a0without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,\u00a0treacherous,\u00a0rash, conceited,\u00a0lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.\u201d 2 Timothy 3<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Applying God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This scripture pretty much describes the present times, huh. I wish it were front-page news or even back-page news. Unfortunately, we won\u2019t find it in any of the mainstream news media publications. It makes me want to shake my finger at the world in disgust. Then I go stand in front of the mirror and do it. Yikes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the scripture, above, describes me in my late thirties and early forties. I was full of myself, proud of my status, a lover of money, possessions, and pleasures rather than a lover of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If I can change, there\u2019s hope for all who are living 2 Timothy 3 today. They will eventually realize how empty and dark that world can be. When they do, God will be right there with open arms to show them a more fulfilling lifestyle. That\u2019s where we come in. God uses us to be His open arms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accounting of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Can I relate to 2 Timothy 3? Am I truly a lover of God today?
