{"id":1116,"date":"2023-10-14T21:03:13","date_gmt":"2023-10-14T21:03:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=1116"},"modified":"2023-10-14T21:03:13","modified_gmt":"2023-10-14T21:03:13","slug":"pastor-juan-humes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=1116","title":{"rendered":"\u201cPastor Juan Humes\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Absorbing God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAnd we know that in all things God works for the good\u00a0of those who love him, who have been called\u00a0according to his purpose.\u201d Romans 8:28<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Applying God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On the evening of September 26<sup>th<\/sup> the Holy Spirit prompted me to call my dear friend, Pastor Juan, who lives in Casa Grande, Arizona. When Juan answered the phone I asked if everything was alright and that the Lord told me to call him. He said he was glad I called because he was going in for open heart surgery in a couple days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next hour was wrapped in a prayerful discussion over a certain scripture. He said the Lord had been speaking to him through Romans 8:26-30 for a number of weeks. Our conversation was sprinkled with laughter, tears and a deep gratitude for the friendship we shared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At 4:17am on October 28<sup>th<\/sup>, Juan texted me saying, \u201cWe are on our way to the hospital.\u201d I texted back a row of praying hands, not knowing it would be our very last exchange. Juan made it through the surgery, but his body just wasn\u2019t strong enough to recover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romans 8:30 says, \u201cAnd those he predestined,&nbsp;he also called;&nbsp;those he called, he also justified;&nbsp;those he justified, he also glorified.\u201d I\u2019m pretty sure that God spoke this to Juan these last weeks of his life as a way of letting Juan know how pleased He was with him. It was another way of saying well done good and faithful servant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accounting of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Has the Holy Spirit prompted me to call someone I haven\u2019t talked to in a while?
