{"id":1219,"date":"2025-01-18T21:08:51","date_gmt":"2025-01-18T21:08:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=1219"},"modified":"2025-01-18T21:08:51","modified_gmt":"2025-01-18T21:08:51","slug":"get-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=1219","title":{"rendered":"\u201cGet Up\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Absorbing God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector\u2019s booth.\u00a0\u201cFollow me,\u201d\u00a0Jesus told him, and Levi <strong>got up<\/strong> and followed him.\u201d Mark 2:14<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Applying God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Jesus asked me to follow Him, I did not get up. I was handcuffed to my sin of pride and sinking into the quicksand of materialism. How could I drop everything to follow Jesus? As it turns out, He wasn\u2019t asking me to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though I didn\u2019t get up and follow Jesus right away, I did add a game changer to my routine. I \u201cGot Up\u201d each morning and kept my appointment with Jesus using a prayer method called ACTS. ACTS stands for Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving and Supplication. Within 60 days there was a paradigm shift of sorts in my thinking. I didn\u2019t have to stop living my life, I just had to live my life differently by living it for Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accounting of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Is Jesus asking me to \u201cGet Up\u201d and follow Him?
