But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, \u201cLord, save us! We\u2019re going to drown!\u201d Matthew 8:24-25<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applying God&#8217;s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When I look back through the numerous situations I\u2019ve encountered in my life, I can see where anxiety and fear blocked out any hope of trusting Jesus. It didn\u2019t stop me from demanding He save me, though.<\/p>\n<p>What I\u2019ve come to realize is that Jesus may not be visibly present when my world is engulfed in turmoil, but His grace is. It\u2019s grace that sustains me when the waves appear bigger than my little boat and grace that ushers in renewed hope.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why God asks us to be available for others who are in the middle of a storm. He\u2019s instilled His grace in each of us for that purpose. Our caring and compassion for one another is the grace that ushers in renewed hope.<\/p>\n<p>I prayed with a young man recently who experienced both God\u2019s grace and renewed hope.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accounting of God&#8217;s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Am I available to be God\u2019s grace for another person.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Absorbing God&#8217;s Word\u00a0 \u201cSuddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat.
