His favorite bible passage (John 3:16) was taught to him by his mother when he was a child.<\/h2>\n<h2>My dad took me to hear Billy Graham at the San Francisco Cow Palace in 1958. I was twelve years old and scared of my own shadow. Billy Graham was forty years old, had a commanding voice and personality. He invited everyone down to the stage so they could give their life to Jesus.<\/h2>\n<h2>There was no fear in me that night. As they played \u201cJust As I Am\u201d, I walked forward to surrender my life to Jesus. It was powerful. I felt God\u2019s anointing for the first time that evening and Billy Graham became one of my spiritual heroes.<\/h2>\n<h2>Billy Graham said, \u201cWhen wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost.\u201d<\/h2>\n<h2>Billy Graham said, \u201caccept the fact that you will die.\u201d Second, \u201cmake arrangements.\u201d Third, \u201cmake provision for those you are leaving behind.\u201d And finally, \u201cmake an appointment with God.\u201d<\/h2>\n<h2><strong>Accounting of God&#8217;s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>If I am making an appointment with God daily, I too will accept my own death, make arrangements for my departure and make provisions for those I leave behind.<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Absorbing God&#8217;s Word \u201cFor God so loved\u00a0the world that he gave\u00a0his one and only Son,\u00a0that whoever believes\u00a0in him shall not perish but have eternal life.\u201d\u00a0 John 3:16 Applying God&#8217;s Word Billy Graham died at age 99, last Wednesday.
