But Jesus told him,\u00a0\u201cFollow me,\u00a0and let the dead bury their own dead.\u201d Matthew 8:21&amp;22<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applying God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What he\u2019s saying to me is, \u201cJack. Make me and my purpose for you a priority. Bring me into every aspect of your life. Nothing else is as important.<\/p>\n<p>Okay. I fail miserably at this, when I allow the slightest distance between Jesus and me.<\/p>\n<p>Louise and I hold one another accountable in prayer each morning. It doesn\u2019t mean that our day will somehow be better, but we do a better job of handling our day when it starts in prayer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accounting of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Have I strayed from my intimacy with Jesus? Who is holding me accountable?
