\u201cAfter Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, \u201cWhere is the one who has been born king of the Jews?\u201d Matthew 2: 1-2<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Magi went to Jerusalem, thinking that\u2019s where they would find the newborn king of the Jews. Wrong! They were even more surprised when they found Jesus in an environment not fit for a king. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can relate to the Magi. There was a time when I thought I\u2019d only find Jesus in the big fancy churches or in certain groups of influential people. Wrong! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Instead, I find Jesus when I help clothe the poor and feed the hungry. I find Him in churches that are struggling to keep the lights on and the doors open. I find Him when I\u2019m praying with the sick or exchanging hugs with a homeless person. I find Him inside myself when I\u2019m not self-consumed or distracted by this world. I often find Jesus when I\u2019m not looking for Him, even in all the wrong places. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Are my eyes and heart open to where Jesus wants me to find Him? Have I stopped looking? <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
