Success for dad was wrapped in his commitment to mom and his five children. He wanted us to experience what being part of a good family meant and he prayed that we would value that just as much.<\/p>\n<p>Like most parents, dad had his good days and bad days. He could be very intimidating and if looks could kill, I\u2019d be long gone. He was also a hugger and a lover. He loved Jesus and wanted everyone else to do the same.<\/p>\n<p>A couple days prior to his death, I asked my dad what his greatest success was. He looked at me and replied, \u201cMy children\u201d. Then he asked me a question. \u201cJack. How\u2019s your relationship with Jesus.? I smiled and told him what I thought he wanted to hear. I said, \u201cIt\u2019s good dad\u201d. At the time, though, I had no idea what a good relationship with Jesus even meant.<\/p>\n<p>Seven years went by, before I dedicated my life to prayer and an intimate friendship with Jesus. I have both of my parents to thank for demonstrating what that looked like.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Accounting of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>How\u2019s my relationship with Jesus?
