{"id":837,"date":"2020-07-29T02:09:02","date_gmt":"2020-07-29T02:09:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=837"},"modified":"2020-07-29T02:09:02","modified_gmt":"2020-07-29T02:09:02","slug":"five-to-ten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=837","title":{"rendered":"\u201cFive To Ten\u201d?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Absorbing God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf my people, who are called by my name,\u00a0will humble\u00a0themselves and pray and seek my face\u00a0and turn\u00a0from their wicked ways, then I will hear\u00a0from heaven, and I will forgive\u00a0their sin and will heal\u00a0their land.\u201d\u00a0 2 Chronicles 7:14<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Applying God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I used to get out of bed in the morning, shower, shave, dress, grab coffee and be out the door. Every Sunday, I\u2019d give God an hour at church, which meant that I spent the other 167 hours of the week doing something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I only prayed when I was desperate for God to hear me. I never even thought about the fact that God may want something from me. What could I possibly give Him that He didn\u2019t already have? How about my heart?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a Christian retreat for men thirty-three years ago, I discovered the gift of daily prayer. I was given a simple format for prayer to use every morning called ACTS. It stands for Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving and Supplication. I was asked to use the ACTS format and pray 5-10 minutes a day for 30 days. Easier said than done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That weekend didn\u2019t change my life but praying daily for the last 33 years has. I\u2019ve been humbled by meeting with God each day, seeking His face and turning from old ways. God always forgives sin and that\u2019s what has healed every area of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accounting of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do I believe that God can still heal our land through prayer?
