{"id":842,"date":"2020-08-22T23:21:23","date_gmt":"2020-08-22T23:21:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=842"},"modified":"2020-08-22T23:21:23","modified_gmt":"2020-08-22T23:21:23","slug":"it-takes-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.act-ministries.org\/blog\/?p=842","title":{"rendered":"\u201cIt Takes Time\u201d?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Absorbing God Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBlessed is the one who perseveres under trial\u00a0because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life\u00a0that the Lord has promised to those who love him.\u201d James 1:12<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Applying God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are so many folks dealing with losses right now; the loss of loved ones to Covid19, the loss of jobs and now the loss of homes due to recent fires. These kinds of losses can draw any of us into the different stages of grief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I remember what I went through six years ago, when my late wife Joanne died. First came shock and denial. Joanne couldn\u2019t be gone. Anger followed and most of it was directed at myself. What did I do wrong? What could I have done to save her? Even though depression has never been a problem, I tanked almost immediately. Spending time in two different grieving groups, time with incredible friends and time with Jesus brought me into a stage of acceptance. I was motivated to persevere and I sensed that God was truly empowering me to put grief underfoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are called to pray for those who are grieving deeply right now. It takes time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Accounting of God\u2019s Word<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What am I doing to work through my own stages of grief?
