“A Holy Moment”

Absorbing God’s Word

“Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16: 13-14

Applying God’s Word

Last week at lunch with Louise, my daughter and my oldest granddaughter, I had a “Holy Moment”. Our waiter introduced himself as Angel. “It’s not every day that we have an angel for a waiter, I said”. He smiled and asked, “Is this your family?” “Part of it, I said.” He said, “Wow. I haven’t been able to see my family for years. They are all in Mexico.”

At this point, I looked into Angel’s eyes. God was touching his heart and it was a beautiful thing to witness. God tapped me on the shoulder, “Are you going to hug him, Jack?” I stood up and threw my arms around him and he returned the hug. It was a Holy Moment.

Too often, I think that being on guard, standing firm in my faith, being courageous and strong mean having to do something difficult or complicated. Not!

The abbreviation KISS means “Keep It Simple Son”. Just do everything in love.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I capturing the many Holy Moments in my life? Have I hugged any angels lately?
