Mark 14:63-64 – “Critics”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“The high priest tore his clothes. “Why do we need any more witnesses?” he asked. “You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?” Mark 14:63-64

Applying God’s Word

Jesus definitely faced some tough critics, but He did not fold under pressure. He stood His ground and it cost Him His life. He set an example for all of His disciples and us on how to react to critics.

If you are working for Jesus, there is a good chance you have run into critics along the way. I sure have. At times, it gets so bad that I am tempted to give up or throw in the towel.

Criticism has crossed my path all of my life, usually by someone who is jealous, frightened or threatened; someone used by Satan to discourage the work God has me doing.

I am not a professional writer, but I feel God has empowered me to write. I am not a polished speaker, but I feel God has empowered me to present retreats and speak to church groups. Anything I do for Jesus opens me to criticism. It comes with the territory.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I afraid to live out my purpose for Jesus, because of His critics?
