1 Thessalonians 4:16 – “Life or Death”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16

Applying God’s Word

We should be excited about this scripture, even though it speaks of Life and Death.

I am not the sharpest pencil in the drawer, but I do know that life is short, no matter how old you are when you died. Death, on the other hand, lasts a long time. It doesn’t matter if you believe in God or not. We are going to be dead forever.

If I am dead, I want to hear the sound of Jesus voice to spend eternity with Him. If I am alive when He comes, I want to be part of that second group who will also spend eternity with Him. Dead or alive, I want to be with Jesus.

Hell is describe as a terrible place, but nothing would be more terrible than to be without Jesus forever.

Accounting of God’s Word

Do I choose life with Jesus or death without Him? Where do I want to spend forever?
