Luke 2:7 – “A Little Room”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.” Luke 2:7

Applying God’s Word

Scripture has a way of tugging at my heart. One of my first mentors said, “Jack. We do not read the scriptures. The scriptures read us.” True!

When I see words like, There Was No Room, I contemplate what that means to me personally and apply it to my own life.

God asked me multiple times to make room for Him in my life. I rejected Him and any thought of that ever happening. All the rooms in my life were already occupied with being more popular, succeeding in business, making lots of money, buying expensive things and living an extravagant lifestyle.

God never stopped knocking on the door of my heart, though. I did not make much room for Him when I finally invited Him into my life. Over time, though, He has replaced the occupants I once thought to be so important. ;>)

Accounting of God’s Word

“Challenge” Can I find just a little more Room in my life this Christmas for Jesus?  He will take whatever He can get.
