“Be A Mom”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” Proverbs 31:27

Applying God’s Word

Eighteen years ago, my daughter Jackie, lost her first child, Niccolo, full term. She was a key employee in my office, with plans of taking over someday.

Shortly after Niccolo’s death, Jackie resigned and told me she wanted to dedicate her life to raising her children. Jackie wanted to be present in her children’s lives and be the best mom she could be.

I had a chance to spend time with my granddaughters on Mother’s Day. I asked each of them what they wanted to be when they grow up. Jackie has set a good example, because two out of three said they wanted to be a mom.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I watching over the affairs of my household? Do I eat the bread of idleness?
