“In God’s Time”

Absorbing God’s Word

“And the second commandment is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39

Applying God’s Word

Years ago, I realized it is much easier to go to God about a person than it is to go to the person about God. When we intercede, in love, God finds the right time to capture their heart. I pray for my neighbors.

One of my neighbors and I had talked about our faith before, but on a recent occasion it was different. My neighbor decided to trust me with some past intimate hurts.

This time our talk ended with me praying with and for my neighbor. He was searching for answers and the kind of healing that only God could provide. We prayed that God would bless him with both.

Loving our neighbors as ourselves is not that difficult, when it’s done with tenderness and patience. God does all the work and He does it in His time.

Accounting of God’s Word

Do I love my neighbors as myself? Do I love them enough to share Jesus with them?
