Absorbing God’s Word
“How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most-High will overshadow you.” Luke 1:34-3
Applying God’s Word
Without the birth of Jesus, there’s no death for Him on the cross. Without Jesus death on the cross, there’s no resurrection. Without Jesus resurrection, there’s no Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit we are incomplete and lack the power needed to do God’s work.
God is inviting us to be anointed with His Holy Spirit, too. He wants us to be filled with His Holy Spirit and overshadowed by the power of the Most-High, just like Mary.
I know exactly where I was in April of 1987 when I gave the Holy Spirit permission to come upon me. I have felt empowered ever since to do what Mary did; share Jesus with the world around me.
Accounting of God’s Word
Have I invited the Holy Spirit into my life yet? Do I want to show Jesus off to the rest of the world like Mary did? There’s no better gift at Christmas.
