Absorbing God’s Word

“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” 1 Thessalonians 5:24

Applying God’s Word

God has used some of the most wonderful people to mold and shape me, over my lifetime. I’m in tears as I write this because I am incredibly thankful. It’s as if God passed me from one person to the next, but in perfect order.

The list begins with my parents, siblings, neighbors, my late wife Joanne, my present wife Louise, my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren, Christian friends and authors, strangers, priests, nuns, pastors and ministers of different faiths and each of you.

Sister June Canoles was one of those people. She was not Catholic when called to be a nun. In her senior year of high school, June was dating a boy, playing violin in the Monterey Symphony Orchestra and riding motorcycles. She could have done anything. “But, she thought, if I become a Sister my life will be bigger, with wider influence.” June chose to become a Sister and I was one of the beneficiaries of that choice.

Louise and I went to see June, right before Christmas and spoke to her on the phone a few weeks ago. Last Week Sister June passed away, at the age of 90. Thank you, June, for your wisdom, craziness, kindness, patience, understanding, love and friendship.

June was a great graphologist and played SPOONS”. https://snddenwest.org/canoles1/.

Thank You, Lord, for Sister June.

Accounting of God’s Word

Have I stopped to recognize who God has used to mold and shape me?

Happy Mother’s Day!
