“Love, Rule & Increase”

Absorbing God Word

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

Applying God’s Word

Out of love, Jesus made a choice to die for me. Out of love, I make a choice to die for Him. I die to sin and to living my plan instead of His. God’s plan is built around three words – Love, Rule and Increase.

As I’ve fallen in “Love” with God, I have felt empowered to handle different tasks (Rule) on His behalf, which in turn, yields an increase for Him. God does this through me/us in our personal lives, our work, and in our community.

Last week, I heard that one of my neighbors had lost his mother. God asked me to write him a note and to include a prayer for both him and his mother. A few days later he showed up at our front door in tears. When he was finally able to speak, he said, “I will keep your beautiful note and prayer forever.” He had a chance to experience God’s love and I was obedient to the task. The increase will follow, even though I probably won’t see it.

Accounting of God’s Word

Are the tasks God is giving me done out of my love for Him? Are those tasks producing an increase in all the areas of my life?
