“Without Reluctance”?

Absorbing God Word

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

Applying God’s Word

I remember that my parents set a wonderful example of giving without reluctance. They didn’t have much, but what they had they shared with those who had even less. Their kindness and generosity have truly stuck with me throughout my life.

The Covid19 lockdown challenged Louise and I to give without reluctance. We weren’t bringing in as much money, but we also spent less by staying home. We became more sensitive to those around us in need, prayed and gave without reluctance.

God asked us to give our time, money and talent. The one gift that seemed more meaningful than anything else has been our time.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I a cheerful giver? Do I give without reluctance?
