“Whatever It Takes”

Absorbing God’s Word

“To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some.” 1 Corinthians 9:22

Applying God’s Word

When Jesus finally lassoed my heart, His expectations for my life were completely opposite of my own. I  pictured myself as inward focused, becoming very holy, sinning less and doing more atta-boy jobs to win His favor. God’s thinking was a bit more outward focused. It seems He envisioned a more aggressive me; someone breaking down the doors of peoples hearts and dragging them into His presence.

Being an evangelist is risky business, especially if you believe you’re doing all the work and Jesus is just a spectator. NOT! He’s in the game and quarterbacking every play. Me? My job is to play the position He assigns me and to be where I’m supposed to be when I’m supposed to be there. My role is to do whatever it takes and then give Him all the glory.

Accounting of God’s Word

Have I become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some?”
