Absorbing God’s Word
“Be silent before the Sovereign Lord, for the day of the Lord is near.” Zephaniah 1:7
Applying God’s Word
Last weekend, I attended a two-day silent retreat at Mater Dolorosa Monastery in Pasadena California. The theme of the retreat was “Trusting In The God Who Waits For You”.
Initially, I was moved by the thought that God was actually waiting for me to experience Him face to face. I used to think that I was always waiting on God to fulfill my needs/wants. Instead, it’s God who is always waiting for me to fulfill His needs/wants.
As the weekend progressed, I understood that God is waiting for me to fulfill His purpose here first. In an attempt to fulfill His purpose for my life, I realize that all I ever really need is Him.
Accounting of God’s Word
Do I trust in the God who waits for me? Am I excited to meet Him? Am I still making Him wait for me to fulfill my purpose here?
