Psalm 4:7 “Resisting Happiness”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.” Psalm 4:7

Applying God’s Word

Truer words have never been spoken, huh? The happiness that comes from things of the world is not lasting, which is why we sabotage our true happiness within.

I just finished reading a wonderful book by Matthew Kelly titled “Resisting Happiness.” Matthew explains how we live with a false sense of happiness, because we look in all the wrong places for true happiness.

God suggested that I purchase five hundred copies of the book to give away. I ignored that request and only ordered sixty copies, instead.

I gave one book to a man not of the Christian faith. I saw him a few weeks later and he told me it was one of the most enriching and engaging books, he has read. He asked if he could get thirty more for family and friends. Another person asked for twenty and another fifteen. At that point, I knew God’s suggestion was real. Therefore, I have given out one hundred of the additional five hundred I ended up purchasing. Read this 186-page book! It’s a game-changer.

Accounting of God’s Word

Do I know why I sabotage my own happiness? Do I know how to stop resisting happiness?
