Genesis 18:5 – “Intrigued By The Title”

Absorbing God’s Word

“Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way:” Genesis 18:5

Applying God’s Word

Recently, two friends and I met for lunch. Our server asked, “What can I get you to eat?” At the same time, she glanced down at a book I had brought in titled “Resisting Happiness”.

When the server came back with our food, she said, “I’m intrigued by the title of your book. What’s it about?” I said, “You will have to read it to find out.” Then I handed her the book and said, “This one is for you.” She accepted the book, thanked me and walked away.

She returned minutes later, saying, “God has been manifesting Himself to me this week through different customers and now you give me this book.” She was emotional, as she poured out her heart to the three of us. I asked, “Would it be okay for us to pray with you?” She answered, “Yes.”

God is the ultimate server. He is constantly offering to get us something to eat. On that day, God sent us all on our way filled and refreshed.

Accounting of God’s Word

How often do I thank God for feeding/refreshing me; physically, mentally and spiritually? Is my attitude one of service to God’s people?
