“The one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” Luke 6:49
Applying God’s Word
Here’s a real relatable scripture; for me anyway. When our daughter was young (birth to thirteen), I was hell-bent on having her see me as popular and successful in the world. I made sure she saw how dedicated I was to attending church on Sundays as well as being involved with numerous good works.
What I was incapable of showing her during those early years is the importance of knowing Jesus Christ up close and personal. She was fourteen when I finally woke up and pretty much on her own before there was any evidence that a solid spiritual foundation was in place for my life.
Accounting of God’s Word
What do my children, grandchildren, family and friends witness as the foundation in my life. Do my words to them equal the example my life is setting?
