2 Corinthians 10:5 “Every Thought” ?

Absorbing God’s Word

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:5

Applying God’s Word

I know that God gives me opportunities repeatedly, until my thoughts are obedient to Him.

It’s much easier to count those times when I’ve obeyed God than it is to count the times that I haven’t. Fortunately, God is a very forgiving God. If I ignore an opportunity, He sends me another one just like it. :>)

Twenty-seven years ago, I carried a little slip of paper around in my shirt pocket for weeks. Every time I changed shirts, I would transfer the little slip of paper to the new shirt pocket. A friend had given me his pastor’s phone number saying that his pastor would let us use the church hall for meetings. I was afraid but believed God was asking me to be obedient. I finally went to talk with the pastor and we’ve been meeting weekly at that church hall ever since. I heard God’s voice but I wasn’t quick to obey Him.

Accounting of God’s Word

What is it that God is continuously asking me to do? Am I ignoring Him or being obedient to what I hear?
