Absorbing God’s Word
“Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.” Psalm 51:10-11
Applying God’s Word
Even though nothing is impossible for God, I’m still asking Him to create a purer heart in me. I could never fathom being cast from His presence or to be without His Holy Spirit.
I’m harder on myself these days. It may have to do with a heightened awareness of God’s presence. It’s never Him not showing up. It’s me not showing up.
God has been very present to me; especially when I’m present to Him. I don’t think He is present to me in times of sin. I think He allows me to enter sin alone. He’s always been there though, when I’ve asked Him for forgiveness, to create in me a pure heart and to renew a steadfast spirit within me.
The Easter season is a wonderful time to focus on Psalm 51:10-11.
