Psalm 33:16-17 – “Crazy” ?

Absorbing God’s Word

“No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.” Psalm 33:16-17

Applying God’s Word

In my youth, my friends and I would ride roller coasters down hills through blind intersections. As teens, we jumped off roofs of new homes into large piles of sand. We seemed to be fearless, but it would be better described as “Crazy”.

As an adult, I spent three years on a submarine. Once out of the Navy, I became a journeyman lineman; climbing hundred-foot poles to work with high voltage. I seemed fearless, but again it could be better described as “Crazy”

I was a young warrior of sorts, but my physical strength would never produce deliverance or save me. Only the saving power of God’s love and grace can do that. That is what can be better described as “Wisdom”.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I still crazy and relying on my own strength? Have I asked God to empower me with the strength of His Holy Spirit?
