Acts 20:24 – “I’m Still Working” ?

Absorbing God’s Word

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24

Applying God’s Word

My life really wasn’t worth much until I gave it to Jesus Christ. A lack of trust and making money delayed that from happening.

I’m still working. Shouldn’t I be retired? Shouldn’t I be sitting in a rocking chair, hitting the little white ball or checking things off my bucket list?

I’m working, because my occupation allows me to. I love taking care of the customers who have placed their trust in me. Making money hasn’t been my motivation for over thirty years; serving each of them has.

Jesus task for me has been to use my work and my area of influence for Him. I continue to do that. Jesus wants me to testify to the good news of His grace, in whatever He has me doing. He will tell me when He wants me to stop one thing and do another.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I using my area of influence to complete the task Jesus has given me? Will I ever retire from testifying to the good news of God’s grace?
