Absorbing God’s Word
“The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.” Matthew 7:25
Applying God’s Word
On our guest bathroom wall, there is a great quote: “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass; it’s about learning to Dance in the rain.”
I’ve encountered all kinds of storms in my own life. Most of those storms came when I least expected them. When I was young, I would self-medicate with alcohol, during the storm. Unfortunately, each storm I was trying to get through became even more complicated by using alcohol. I also didn’t know back then that flying solo through a storm was not only dangerous, but stupid. Wisdom finally showed up and convinced me that my way of surviving storms did not work.
I know that more storms are ahead of me. I also know that the foundation of my faith and trust in Jesus have taught me quite a bit about dancing in the rain.
Accounting of God’s Word
Am I still waiting for a storm to pass or have I learned how to dance in the rain?
