Absorbing God’s Word
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” John 10:10
Applying God’s Word
Satan is real and he’s the ultimate thief. He’s out to steal my soul from God or do everything he can to kill and destroy it. His job is to separate me/us from God. When we make God a priority, Satan makes us a priority. Satan has a “Wanted Dead or Alive” notice out on each of us.
One of my biggest fears about being close to God was the price I might have to pay. Interesting, huh? Instead of focusing on what it would cost not to know God, I was focused on what it would cost to know Him.
Has the last thirty-two years of my life been a knock-down drag-out fight with Satan? Yes! I’ve come to realize that there is a price to pay for an intimate friendship with Jesus and life to the full. The good news is that this life is very short in comparison to eternity.
Hell? All I need to know about hell is that God won’t be there. That means a very long miserable existence for those who end up there.
Accounting of God’s Word
Am I protecting my soul through prayer, scripture and an intimate relationship with Jesus? Am I willing to fight for my friend Jesus?
