Galatians 2:20 – “Intrusive Selfishness” ?

Absorbing God’s Word

I’ve been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

Applying God’s Word

Does Christ live in me or do I only invite Him in when my life gets ugly?

Recently, I spent a day ministering to friends/neighbors. One of my neighbors, a widower, returned home from having surgery. He needed help each morning changing some soiled bandages. That afternoon, I spent quality time with my friend who has Parkinson’s. I sensed God’s anointing on this day, which is not always the case.

It’s sad to say, but there have been times when I’ve served others to gain recognition or I was attempting to earn points with God. I’ve also served with an attitude of “Intrusive Selfishness”, those are times when I’m serving, but would rather be doing something else.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I serving others with the heart of Jesus? Have I died to myself so that Christ can live in me for others?
