Acts 20:24 – “ The Finish”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” Acts 20:24

Applying God’s Word

My granddaughters are all involved in different sports activities and I’m proud that they know what it means “To Finish”. They don’t have to be the best to do their best.

Recently, I watched one of my granddaughters compete in a cross-country race. There must have been at least eighty young women at the starting line.

As the race progressed, I found myself getting very emotional. I thought about the endurance it takes to run, let alone finish; about how the physical race and the spiritual race are so similar.

Finishing the race for Jesus takes incredible endurance and His grace. We don’t have to be the best as long as we have done our best at “The Finish”.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I running the race for me or Jesus? Where am I at in the spiritual race? Is my aim to finish?
