Luke 7: 14 & 15 – “Get Up” ?

Absorbing God’s Word

“Then he went up and touched the coffin they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”15 The dead man sat up and began to talk.”  Luke 7: 14 & 15

Applying God’s Word

Jesus models everything He expects us to do for Him. Jesus death and resurrection gave each of us the opportunity to receive His Holy Spirit. By receiving His Holy Spirit, we are empowered to do what Jesus did and more.

A friend of mine is writing a book titled “Get The But Out of Your Head”. It’s a bit wild, BUT that word does carry a lot of impact. The word “But” is just an excuse. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said to God, “But, I’m not equipped for that assignment yet.” God says, “Yes you are, Jack. You’ve been empowered with my Holy Spirit. What else do you need? What’s holding you back?”

God wants each of us to touch those around us, so He can breathe life back into them. He wants us to say to everyone who is spiritually dead, “Get Up”!

Accounting of God’s Word

What’s holding me back from doing what God did? Who do I know that is spiritually dead and waiting for a life-saving touch from God through me?
