2 Timothy 4:7-8 “Well Done Steve”

Absorbing God’s Word

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Applying God’s Word

My good friend Steve, age 62, died last Friday after a two-year fight with cancer.

Steve and I worked together, prayed together, laughed together, cried together and gave retreats together.

After Steve invited Jesus into his life, inviting others to do the same became a way of life. He was a powerful witness. There was no quit in Steve. He embraced Jesus to the very end, with dignity, courage, grace and a truckload of faith.

“It’s what a man does after he loses everything that defines who he is.” Steve was one of those men who lost it all, but gained a relationship with Jesus Christ in return.

At the end of the day, God is saying to Steve, “Well done, good and faithful servant. Come and share your master’s happiness!”! Matt. 25:21

Accounting of God’s Word

Is my life that on fire for Jesus?
