Matthew 2:11 – “My Christmas Gift”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.” Matthew 2:9-11

Applying God’s Word

The “Three” wise men presented Jesus with their gifts, knowing that the world was receiving, in the birth of Jesus, the greatest gift anyone could ever get, love.

At Christmas, my wife Louise traveled to see her grandchildren. Right after she left, I came down with a cold. My plans to spend time with my own family were quickly deteriorating. At risk of getting sick, my “Three” wise granddaughters came to our house for a two-day visit and cared for me to boot. Their visit was probably one of the most valuable gifts I have ever received at Christmas, love.

Accounting of God’s Word

Was Christ’s love my best gift to get and give, this year?
