“Sing To Them”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory.” Isaiah 60:19

Applying God’s Word

Over the last year, Louise and I have driven by this little garden center numerous times. Today, we both sensed we should stop and look inside.

A man met us at the entrance and proceeded to give us a tour of his nursery. There was a peace about him and his knowledge about plants and horticulture grabbed our attention. There was soft music playing in two of the greenhouses that could be heard throughout the nursery.

He asked if we knew the secret to growing good plants. We said, “Prayer”. He smiled in agreement and then said, “Talk to them. Sing to them. They love music. They are living things.”

He talked about the light of Christ and how people come to his nursery to experience the presence of God’s light. He invited us to come back any time to sit in his garden and enjoy God’s light and presence. Were we dreaming? Not at all.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I only looking to the sun or moon for light? Do others experience the light of Christ when they are with me?
