“Night Is Coming”?

Absorbing God Word

“As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming when no one can work.” John 9:4

Applying God’s Word

On page 127 of Jane T. Harvey’s book Ask Him there’s a quote that says, “Ask Him to help you take advantage of every opportunity to reach out to the lonely and discouraged.”

It reminded me of a question I once Asked God. “Why was I born in America and not Calcutta? He said, “I already have Calcutta covered. I need you working for Me right where you are.”

It’s been a tough year for so many. Louise and I couldn’t possibly help everyone who needed help. Therefore, we helped the ones God sent to us. It’s been overwhelming and tiring at times and yet we know God has used us right where we are. God didn’t equip us to give up. He equipped us to work while there’s still light of day. At some point, night will come, and we won’t be able to work any longer.

Accounting of God’s Word

Am I working for God while there’s still daylight? Am I taking advantage of every opportunity to reach the lonely and discouraged for God?
