“Happy Birthday”!

Absorbing God Word

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:1-2

Applying God’s Word

Today we celebrate Pentecost, which marks the end of the Easter season. Thankfully, it didn’t mark the end of a season for the original apostles. Instead, it marked the birth of our church and the release of the Holy Spirit to all those who followed in the apostle’s footsteps.

When I was forty years old, I was introduced to the Holy Spirit and there’s been no turning back. To describe that introduction to the Holy Spirit as powerful would be a huge understatement. It opened my eyes to prayer, God’s word, and the application of His truth in all the areas of my life. It changed everything for me.

Recently, God reminded me of a vision He gave me twenty years ago. It was a vision of the world covered by a wave of the Holy Spirit. I didn’t think much of it then, but I do now. I see it as something that’s inevitable.

Accounting of God’s Word

How am I celebrating the birthday of the church today? What are some of my experiences of the Holy Spirit?
