“Sidetracked”

Absorbing God Word

“Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” Ephesians 6:11

Applying God’s Word

Louise and I usually wake up, move slowly to the kitchen, make coffee, grab our bibles, meditations, prayer journals and enter our time with the Lord. How quickly that priority can change on days that are packed with ditractions.

I could hear the garbage trucks out front. I just step outside for a minute to bring in our garbage cans. After the cans were put away, I noticed a couple things in the garage that weren’t address the day before. While working on that, the pest control man came.

When I finally walked back into the house, I happened to glance at the kitchen table and an open bible. I was quickly reminded that Louise and I hadn’t put on the full armor of God.

We stopped what we were doing and sat down to pray. Jesus? Jesus was just patiently sitting there waiting for us. He’s never been late for our appointment with Him because He makes us a priority.

Getting sidetracked is one of Satan’s favorite weapons.

Accounting of God’s Word

What is my daily list of priorities? Is Jesus on the list?
