Psalm 30:11-12 – “Honoring Women”?

Absorbing God’s Word

“You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.” Psalm 30:11-12

Applying God’s Word

Lord it has been three years since my wonderful wife Joanne went to be with You. The weeks and months that followed her passing left me in a tailspin of mourning. I remember begging You to restore my joy.

You heard my plea to turn my mourning into dancing and sent me another incredible woman to marry. Therefore, it is not a coincidence that Louise is a dancer.

You have always surrounded me with saintly woman. My mother Doris was the first, followed by an awesome sister named Patti, a wonderful wife named Joanne, an amazing daughter named Jackie and now another incredible wife named Louise.

So, I honor them and all women on this Mother’s Day and give thanks to You forever.” You have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.

Accounting of God’s Word

Have I taken time to honor my mother? Who are the saintly women God has placed in my life?
