2 Corinthians 5:6-8 – “Seventy One” ?

Absorbing God’s Word

“We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8

 Applying God’s Word

C.S. Lewis says, “Has this world been so kind to you that you should leave with regret? There are better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

I turned 71 last Thursday. Where did all that time go? How did I get so old so fast? ;>) It’s difficult for me to turn another year older without thinking about how much longer God is going to keep me here. I surely don’t need another house, car, dinner out, vacation or birthday party. What I need is to keep doing the will of God until I take my last breath.

A friend and former customer of mine died a few days ago. Mickey was 65 years old and an incredible human being. He was out for an evening walk when his life was taken by a hit and run driver. He leaves behind a wonderful wife and a great son. Why? Each of us will probably have to wait to find out the answer to that question. Until then, we hang on to our faith and move forward in HOPE.

Life is fragile, but death is not the end of life for those who believe in Jesus.

Accounting of God’s Word

Do I think there are better things ahead?
